That was more than 75 years ago and now it’s an opportunity to discover one of the richest regions of France for its history, gastronomy, and quality of life. It is famous for its Mont Saint Michel, the wars of William the Conqueror, Monet as well as many other Impressionists and a favorite weekend haunt for Parisians.

The airport is the start of an emotional drive into the history of art. In less than an hour and a half you will be in the beautiful gardens of Claude Monet brought to the world’s attention through his extraordinary paintings. This is followed by a visit to one of the famous bistros in the City of Rouen followed by a one-hour trip to a historic in on the banks of the Seine.
Monet lived with his big family in this house for over 40 years and transformed the garden into a floral paradise where every month is a riot of different colors. You can also see the waterlily pond that he frantically painted in the last period of his life and now part of 20th century artistic iconography. You can visit the house, get a sense of his work and his passion for color and life.
In Roman times Rouen was the 2nd city of France. Its 13th century cathedral was made famous by Monet who painted it 30 times at different times of day to enter art history. For the French, Rouen remains the city where the English burnt Joan of Arc who went on to become Patron Saint of France.
