Le Domaine des Etangs

Created by interior designer Isabelle Stanislas, 29 rooms and suites in the castle and superb farmhouses turn into cozy, clear and spacious cocoons. With exposed stone, the 7 rooms and suites in the castle, named after stars and planet, remind their guests of the perfect balance between the sky and the earth.

The ones with glass ceilings and ancestral framework, display the location’s history. In the main farmhouse, a traditional regional building, 4 duplex suites seem to echo the same pull from nature and invite you in to follow the rhythm of the 4 seasons. 

Advocating for short food circuits, fresh, local, organic products and seasonal dishes, the cuisine at the Domaine des Etangs is an invitation to enjoy flavors that match nature’s cycle.

Under the leadership of Chef Loïc Lecoin, the dishes are created with creativity and sophistication in different spaces: at the Dyades, the dishes are smooth, tender and crisp all at once as well as beautifully gourmet or, for a special occasion, at the Monade, a private restaurant in the castle (up to 22 people) that offers specially created menus and the most beautiful French tableware.

And for those who want a change, a number of other locations invite you in for a gourmet break, outside of the restaurant format… allowing you to multiply your culinary desires. 

Ideal for healing and letting go, the Domaine des Etangs nurtures the art of relaxation that focuses on balance. The balance of the senses, of nature and what each season can offer in abundance. The balance of body and soul, obviously, with an entire range of services created around the same quest: rejuvenation and getting in shape. 

On foot, on horseback, by bike or even aboard silent electric Blue Summer cars, the estate’s 1000 hectares will awaken your curiosity and your taste for active discovery. 7 km hikes or jogs, brisk walking, visiting the cattle farm, fishing, hiking, canoeing… everything is possible, just about. You will surely cross paths with the placid Limousin cows, grazing in the meadows: breeding cattle is done here with love and we have around 800 animals. 

If there is one location where children have their own place, it’s at the Domaine des Etangs. It is very common to hear the sounds of their joyful laughs from the 4 corners of the Domaine: in the playground with treehouses, trampolines, zip wires, swings and slides… on the corner of the tomato plants in the vegetable garden… or even at the stove indulging in the pleasures of traditional cuisine.
